Bananas At Large Inc. Opens Store In Downtown Santa Rosa, CA, The Retailer’s First Additional Location in its Nearly Four-Decade History

Owner and President of Bananas At Large, Alan Rosen, recently traveled to Washington, DC to appear before Congress and Senate leaders to advocate music and arts in education. Along with Alan was Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain, singer Taylor Dane, the President of VH1, and the President of NAMM. Industry journal The Music Trades this month ranked Bananas at Large No. 102 on its list of the top 200 music retailers nationwide. We offer a greater selection of unique brands than any store.

Bananas at Largeâ??s Santa Rosa, 515 Ross Street, (707) 542-5588 location will offer a great assortment, with unique options, including computer recording, specialty microphone, DJ equipment, all basic such as Guitar, Bass, Drum, Keyboard needs and will host 12 to 15 music teachers.

Bananas supports all local schools, PTAs and Booster Clubs thru advertising and donations. Y Recently Bananas was acknowledged for assisting Heads Up raise over 0,000 for San Rafael Schools. And we recently had a representative attend the California State PTA Convention Art Workshop. Bananas supports Relay For Life Cancer Walk, Young Performers Intâ??l., American Cancer Society, local Sheriff and Police departments in supporting Camp Chance for abused, homeless and neglected kids, local live music such as sponsoring the Open Mic Blues Jamâ??s at local venues, reading programs, local theater and film program.and more.

Bananas at Large was founded in 1972 in San Francisco as a source for collectible guitars acquired from pawn shops. The store moved to San Rafael in 1974 under the ownership of Mr. Waxler and bandmate J.D. Sharp, who acquired full ownership in 1984. The store expanded to its current San Rafael location in 1989 and expanded to a warehouse across the street in 2000, occupying a total of 14,000 square feet.

Mr. Rosen started at Bananas in 1992 as general manager and part owner with his wife, Meredith. The Rosenâ??s purchased full ownership from J.D. and Andrea Sharp in 2007.
